In prayer in 2023, God placed upon the hearts of His servants a vision—to establish a scholarship and grant that would honor a distinguished Proverbs 31 woman, whose life reflects unwavering faith, humility, and service. That vision became the Deaconess Geraldine Wright Scholarship & Grants, a living testimony to a life poured out in love unto God and God’s people.
“Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.”
— Proverbs 31:28 (KJV)
Deaconess Geraldine Wright is a life-long member of St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Church of Clermont, where her faithful service spans generations. She has served diligently as a Stewardess, Choir Member, devoted member of the Sallie T. Benson Women’s Missionary Society, and a faithful supporter of the Young People’s and Children’s Department.
In 2022, she was consecrated as a Deaconess in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, affirming a lifetime already marked by consecration, compassion, and commitment to God’s work.
Beyond the church walls, Deaconess Wright has faithfully served the broader community as a long-time member of the Lend-A-Hand Club of Clermont and as an active participant in the Clermont–Groveland Senior Citizens Group.
“She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.”
— Proverbs 31:26 (KJV)
At the remarkable age of 90, Deaconess Geraldine Wright continues to walk in love, instill wisdom, and serve with grace—proving that faithfulness knows no age limit. Her life reflects a servant’s heart, always willing to help, encourage, and uplift those in need.
The Deaconess Geraldine Wright Scholarship & Grants are designed to bless and support graduating seniors of St. Mark AME Church by providing a love gift toward:
• Higher education
• Military service
• Workforce and career development
These gifts are tangible expressions of encouragement, affirming each recipient’s next step while honoring the legacy of a woman who has faithfully poured into others.
“Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.”
— Proverbs 31:31 (KJV)
