St. Mark AME Church of Clermont is a historic and Christ-centered ministry servicing our community for over 137 years. Our mission is to share the love of Jesus Christ through worship, fellowship, and community outreach.
We are committed to nurturing spiritual growth, empowering lives, and creating a welcoming environment where every member and visitor can experience God's love in meaningful ways. As Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Guided by faith, hope, and love, we believe, as 1 Corinthians 13:13 declares, that "these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love." With this foundation, The Mark continues to be a beacon of hope, service, and transformation in Clermont and beyond.
Pastor Denzil D. Brumfield
Rev. Denzil D. Brumfield was born in Gulfport, Mississippi, and later moved with his family to Orlando, Florida. He is the youngest of six children born to the late Annie Lee and L. B. Brumfield. At a young age, he received the Lord Jesus Christ on January 7, 1982.
He graduated from Evans High School (“Trojans”) in 1983 and earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies and a Master of Divinity from Luther Rice College & Seminary in Lithonia, Georgia. With a heart for the disenfranchised and broken, Rev. Brumfield has ministered internationally on a mission trip to Mali, Africa, and locally to inmates at 33rd Jail in Orlando.
Employed at Disney World for 37 years, he answered the call to pastoral ministry in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, receiving his first appointment in 1999. Now serving as Pastor of St. Mark AME Church in Clermont, he is grateful to lead a vibrant, faith-filled congregation. One of his favorite scriptures is Romans 8:28 KJV: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.”
He is blessed to share life with his lovely wife, Lady Tizonya S. Brumfield, and is proud father to Shantasia, Skyecara, and Denzil Jr. (D.J.), as well as grandfather to Mark, Markasia, Ace, and Asaan. Pastor Brumfield lives by the principle: “We must have a mind to know Him, a heart to love Him, and a will to obey Him.”
